Actor Mark Benton, best known for roles in Waterloo Road and Northern Lights and his appearance on Strictly Come Dancing, has been announced as celebrity ambassador for St Michael's Hospice in East Sussex, which provides care for people with life-limiting illnesses such as cancer, heart failure and AIDS.

Benton, who will support the hospice at events and visit patients, said 'The hospice is an incredible place. It really is great. You never know when you might need their services and it's such a valuable part of our community. The hospice offers so much and deserves all the support it can get'.
